Slinger
The sling, a cloth or leather pouch with strings by which it can be whirled to develop the centrifugal force required to project a stone, may have been used against the English at Senlac Hill in 1066. It was effective up to about 30 yards (27.5m) and, as David demonstrated on Goliath, a slinger could kill an adversary.
